This sword is a very special one, as it is my first full sword. After years of making knives, I’ve decided to switch gears and apply my experience and knowledge on this new path. It isn’t perfect, but it is a finished, whole and perfectly useable sword. As each sword gets made, like my knives, they will improve with leaps and bounds.
I will be moving into my own take and variants of sword making, but I do favour a heavy Japanese influence. As I am not myself, Japanese, I will be designing and modernising the Baz range of swords with my own personal flair.
The price on this sword reflects the time and experience that has gone into it, (months) to cover costs – but naturally kept low because of the imperfections inherent in a first sword. Subsequent sword prices will increase as the quality improves.
*I have been making knives for twelve years now, seven years full-time as a professional bladesmithing instructor in Australia’s leading bladesmithing school. My forge at home is also fully equipped and has now been upgraded with R&D to accommodate sword-making.
